Our dream to visit Vietnam became true in Oct 2017, and when I told my friends and family, no one knew where it was or what was there! I was surprised to see such reactions from people, "Is it in Thailand?" , " Is it another name for Burma?" , "You already saw it right, Angkor Wat place!". It was so hilarious, and we felt proud to go see a place where none of my friends had been to! We are a bit different from other travelers of our age... They have the famous destinations as the only places to see in their list. We on the other side want to visit the most unexplored yet beautiful, peaceful places on Earth! When we did our first Europe trip (Read my blog about it here), even my mom thought we'll go to Paris or Switzerland. But we went to Salzburg :) Now you know our taste of travel!
We are a couple traveling the world as much as we can, whenever we can take out some time from our work life. We make sure to visit at least two countries every year and tick off our longest ever bucket list of destinations. Vietnam is every traveler's dream, even I did not know about it until I became an explorer rather a tourist. I follow a lot of world travelers and was inspired to see Vietnam as soon as possible. We loved our trip to Cambodia so much, that I knew Vietnam wouldn't disappoint us.

Hey Guys!!!! Welcome back to my blog. I've been busy editing my videos and posting pics of my recent trip in Instagram and Facebook. If you haven't followed me there, go and have a look right away :)
I just came back from an awesome trip to Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi) and thought today I will write about, what are the really must try food in Vietnam. So here we go:
Hi there, thanks for dropping by my blog to read about my Europe trip experience. If you are here for the first time, don't forget to readPart 1 of my travel journal which covers the beautiful city of Salzburg.
Now go on read and enjoy the virtual trip... Hi friends, I am an avid traveller who loves to travel and make experiences for a lifetime's worth. I have been to many places and I mostly like to pen down the experience and keep it to myself for later reads. But I thought it would be interesting for you to read my personal travel journal and have a look at the beautiful places, through my eyes. It's more of a journal and recording of what I felt then. Enjoy reading it and no judging, huh :) Hope you will love reading it, and let me know if you would like to see similar travel posts. Now read on... It's gonna be a very long post covering my first ever Europe trip end of last year for about 10 days in Salzburg, Vienna and Germany. So grab your coffee, some snacks maybe, sit back and read at leisure. Click on the pictures and admire. Bookmark and come back when you have time. Date: 23.10.2016
10:00 pm It's time to fly again... I have hundreds of things running in my mind now because of various other reasons, stopping me from thinking about my trip. But everything aside, I have to enjoy the present moment which I have planned for a while now. I should focus on my vacation.. my first DIY vacation. This means a lot to me. May be when I come back, my mind becomes clear and I will be happy as ever. Took the uber to airport, checked in real quick and boarded the flight. This is a long pending post... sitting in my drafts for months. Finally her!! We had gone for an 8 day family trip to North India covering Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Jodhpur. We had covered a lot of places, had awesome food and visited all the historic places in India. This was my first time to Delhi - our Capital city!! I have a lot of experiences to share but no time to write it in detail... and it might become a very long story!! So let's look at the picture story of the trip. I have a lot of pics to share, so I shall write it in 2 parts. First part about my Delhi and Agra Experience. We covered most of the must visit places in Delhi in one and half day. Day 1: Akshardham Temple It's an embodiment of Indian culture and architecture. I was amazed by the structure and the vast area covered by this temple. More than spirituality, it was more of a commercial space or a tourist spot. They have 3D shows, animated shows, indoor boat ride, big screen movie - all of them showing the life story of Swaminarayan. We were not allowed to take pics inside the temple. So I could show it to you only from a distant view. Had awesome food at the famous Haldiram's Restaurant.... Pav Bhaji, Chats, Chenna Bhatura, roti and yummy gravies!!! :P
Me and Sandy were discussing last night about the diets followed in other countries... then we decided that we should know the different diets and take the positives to have a healthy lifestyle.
In India, olden days diet plan was very well designed for farmers and other workers who sweat their blood, and then have an hearty meal to compensate. So Indian cuisine is all about rice, wheat and a little bit of other cereals. But modern Indians are more into sophisticated jobs, we don't sweat much or use physical strength at work. So we need to have a healthy and a lightweight diet. And on top of that we are trying to follow US diet to match with their work culture... burgers and cheese all the time!! I'm not complaining about US diet, but we tend to take only the negatives.. we don't eat fresh salads like them. So when I did a bit of research on the net... countries with healthy diets have a lower obesity rate and longer life expectancy (Shocking to see 68.8% of American adults are overweight or obese). What most of the healthy country diets had in common are the low-fat products like fish, lean protein, vegetables, fruits and beans. They included very small amounts of red meat, as they are the reasons for many modern health issues. Mediterranean Diet is considered to be the best of all and healthy amongst the others!! So let's see what is it that makes it the best... We love street eats anytime and anywhere!! Be it roadside pani puri, masal puri (Chat items), kothu parota, hot jalebi and samosa, pav bhaji, ice creams, momos, shawarma, kathi rolls... the list is never ending!! Beside the fact that they are not served hygienically, nothing can beat it's taste and flavor!! Recently me and my hubby have become addicts to the "Eat Street" show on Fox Traveller... You must see it if you are a foodie or not!! You'll become a food lover like me :P They enjoy eating on the streets like nothing in this world. So I thought why not put down my favorite street eats in my journal, so that others can also get tempted like me :P This week's Eat Street Special: Chicken Shawarma Roll
Location: outside Punjabi Kitchen - Whitefield Cost: Rs.50 per roll Our recently discovered street eat is this Shawarma roll, made and served outside" a small hotel called "Punjabi Kitchen"in Whitefield area. The hotel actually looks bad, but this guy who has his shawarma station outside makes really yummy and juicy chicken shawarma rolls. He easily makes around 10 rolls in 15 minutes.... super busy man and he must be passionate to make such tasty rolls everytime. Great Consistency!!
I love to wite my journal everyday, but because i dont find time to put down everything that i come across atleast i wanted to have a travel journal. It's a great way to remember each and every moment of your trip, things you saw, people you met and ofcourse about the food you had :) After reading our experience in this trip, I'm sure you would also carry your journal for your next trip!!
23rd May 2013 6:20 a.m. : Started by Car from Whitefield, Bangalore to Bandipur National Park (On the way on Mysore-Ooty Road) We had already booked the Jungle Lodges Resort a week back. It's tough to get a room over there... it's completely filled in all seasons. Actually we had tried for BR Hills, sonce it was full we ended up going to Bandipur. But it was worth it!! A perfect getaway for Bangalore people. We dint regret a moment of the trip :) 7:00 a.m. : Drive on the Nice Road was NICE :) 8.00 a.m. : First pitstop - KAMAT Lokaruchi. Awesome environment with traditionally dressed waiters and served food. Idli was served in a different way I've never seen, wrapped up in a leaf. Couldn't forget the smell and taste of the CHAI. Masal Dosa was great!! |
Travel JournalKavi and Sandy are ardent foodies and love to travel different places. They love to try anything and everything when it comes to food.
