Eat street #1

We love street eats anytime and anywhere!!
Be it roadside pani puri, masal puri (Chat items), kothu parota, hot jalebi and samosa, pav bhaji, ice creams, momos, shawarma, kathi rolls... the list is never ending!! Beside the fact that they are not served hygienically, nothing can beat it's taste and flavor!! Recently me and my hubby have become addicts to the "Eat Street" show on Fox Traveller... You must see it if you are a foodie or not!! You'll become a food lover like me :P They enjoy eating on the streets like nothing in this world. So I thought why not put down my favorite street eats in my journal, so that others can also get tempted like me :P
This week's Eat Street Special:
Chicken Shawarma Roll
Location: outside Punjabi Kitchen - Whitefield
Cost: Rs.50 per roll
Our recently discovered street eat is this Shawarma roll, made and served outside" a small hotel called "Punjabi Kitchen"in Whitefield area. The hotel actually looks bad, but this guy who has his shawarma station outside makes really yummy and juicy chicken shawarma rolls. He easily makes around 10 rolls in 15 minutes.... super busy man and he must be passionate to make such tasty rolls everytime. Great Consistency!!

Chicken Momo
Location: Outside Forum Value Mall, Whitefield. (Near Just Books)
Cost: Rs.50 for chicken (8 pieces) and Rs.40 for veg
This is also our recent discovery... it's totally a dark place between the Forum Value Mall and the Just books building. Hard to notice this guy having a small table and a steamer to make momos. They serve 8 pieces with chilly chutney in a plate. The momos are soft, delicate and the filling inside is cooked to perfection. It is bland but when you have it with the chilly chutney, it's really spicy. We had it once and it was just a direct flight to heaven!! Now we know where to have good Momos. You can't stop with one plate. One can easily gulp 3 plates of Momos. We didn't like the Veg momos much, it was full of cabbage... May be we have a strong aversion towards veggies :(
