Natural products are always better for you internally and externally. They do not cause any serious side effects. Its good for the environment too, you will not be creating any non degradable garbage to the earth! Your bit of help to a greener environment. Its cheaper sometimes compared to expensive chemical products for your problems. No harm in trying natural way before you decide on anything! There are many more reason to move to Natural products!
Start small with changing a thing or two in your everyday regime, be it beauty products or eatables or home products. Make the change and see how you feel about it. If you are in Bangalore, you will already know about the plastic ban here. Initially it was very difficult to segregate garbage and carry our own cloth bags to supermarkets. But now I'm sure you will love the feel of carrying cloth bags to shops, understanding how much plastics you use by segregating your home waste and trying to reduce it. So change is difficult at the start, but you will understand that the change is for your good!
When you look back, you would love these changes you made years back and feel good about yourself. Be a role model for the next generation to have a greener environment around them.
Are you using the expensive alcohol laded toners to help you come out of your skin problems? Or are you thinking to start using toners in your CTM routine?
Apple Cider Vinegar is the cheaper option and a natural product so that the skin doesn't have to absorb any chemicals. Buy the purest raw form (undistilled) of ACV from the store. Look for the word - "With the Mother". ACV provide natural alpha hydroxy acids and maintains the natural pH levels of your skin. It helps removing dead skin and improving acne marks too.
Mix in 1 part ACV with 2 parts distilled water to create your own DIY natural toner and store it in a clean spray bottle. Dampen a cotton ball or swab and swipe across the face after cleansing. Leave it for 2 mins and then go ahead with your normal moisturizer.
I cant repeat this one anymore. Fresh Aloe vera from the plant directly. Cut into slices and you store them for a week in the refrigerator. Cut the slice into half and rub the gel side on your skin where you have rashes or acne problem. It soothes the skin immediately and moisturizes, cools your skin.
Aloe Vera gel can also be used to condition your hair. Apply the gel side on your hair strands before taking bath. Keep for an hour and then Wash off with a mild shampoo.
Add the gel to your homemade face packs and hair masks for a cooling moisturizing effect.

Do you always think of buying expensive hair mask products from the salon to treat your hair? You dont really need them when you can make simple hair mask with the ingredients at home and give more benefits than the side effects from chemical products.
You can make hair mask from avocado or banana. Mash them well and add 2 tbsps of honey, 1 tbsp of lemon juice (optional for non itchy scalp). Mix well and apply on scalp and hair strands. Wrap your hair in a shower cap or a plastic bag for 1 hour. Rinse well with a mild shampoo. Gives smooth nourished hair like never before.

You need not buy make up removers from the store, which has so much of alcohol and does only bad for your skin. You just need a simple oil like coconut oil or olive oil or almond oil. Take few drops on a cotton swab. Swipe it across your face. Massage well with the same cotton swab and remove with damp cotton ball. It removes all the makeup gunk easily and then you wash your face with your normal cleanser.
Buying Organic products:
I was a bit hesitant to try organic brands in skin care before. It's really difficult to find good brands who make 100% organic products and also claim them to work for your skin type. But finally i have found a very good brand from India - "Juicy Chemistry". It's a chennai based brand and they make 100% organic skin care products and oils. I started with their cold pressed avocado oil and went ahead with their anti acne charcoal face mask and serum. The products smell so amazing! Like the rainforests! Avocado Oil: If you have dry hair and dry skin problems, then you need an oil to give the required moisture which can penetrate into the skin. Moisturizers will not help. Avocado oil is so light and easily gets absorbed by the skin and hair. I just take 2-3 drops in my palms, rub them together to warm it up and gently pat on my face or skin. You will not feel sticky or oily like other oils. I'm also going to try their other oils like argan oil, with hazel oil, rose hip oil, etc. I really like the feeling of applying it and the aroma! I always have it near my workstation. The bottles are so cute with a dropper to dispense in drops. |
Ah! this is an unspoken category for us girls out there.I just wanted to share this with you, because I made a choice a year ago and I'm really feeling the freedom and comfortable during those days of trouble. Its never troublesome anymore for me.
Menstrual cups made my life so easy, that I cant live without them now!
Benefits - You don't dump medical/sanitary waste like others. Yearly you throw about 70 sanitary napkins and that leads to non degradable garbage dumps or land filling.
Self benefits - You dont even feel that you are on your periods! You dont get to know the intensity of your flow, and that must be really disturbing before. You dont have to worry about changing pads every now and then. It doesnt leak at all, you can gym, dance or swim without any worries! Is this not enough for you to try this instead of the other unhygienic products out there???
You will thank me if you make this change. Its been more than a year and I'm free now :)
Linked a video on how to use it: here
