Tea Tree Oil helps to cure skin ailments, scalp issues and other medicinal benefits. It can also be used to clean household and remove ticks too. Tea tree Oil has anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. So it soothes the skin or scalp, treating itchiness effectively. It has good moisturizing property too.
- Relief from itching and inflammation from bug bites (2-3 drops in a basin of water, soak 10-15 minutes. 5-8 drops in a tub full of water.)
- Acne - Before using test your sensitivity to this treatment. Apply diluted with water, as it suits you.
- Psoriasis
- Eczema
- Infections (Pour a few drops of Vitamin E oil and 1-2 drops tea tree oil in the palm of your hand and simply rub onto skin)
- Toe nail fungus (Mix 3-6 drops of tea tree oil in a basin of water and soak feet for at least 10 minutes, 1-2 times a day)
- Dry Scalp/Dandruff (mix 2-3 drops in Cider Vinegar & Baking powder, or just plain water or any carrier oil like coconut oil)
- Prevents ticks - 1 part tea tree oil in 2 parts water in a spray bottle. Spray it on shoes, bed linen, socks, etc.
- Insect repellent -- Tea tree oil is known to repel mosquitoes. In a large spray bottle add 2 ounces of tea tree oil and fill the rest with water shake well. Spray the solution onto a small area of the skin to check for irritation before applying to a large area.
- Lice Prevention -- Mix a small amount of tea tree oil into your regular shampoo approximately, 10 to 12 drops. This is a really interesting use of tea tree oil!
- Skin tags -- Apply tea tree oil to the skin tag and rub, repeat the process several times a day until the tag falls off on its own.
- All purpose cleaner -- Fill a spray bottle with 2 tsp. tea tree oil and the rest with water, this works great as an all purpose cleaner.
- Headache -- Add a few drops of tea tree oil to a warm damp cloth hold the cloth over face to inhale the vapors.
- Joint and muscle pain -- Mix tea tree oil with your favorite cream and rub onto painful areas.
- Aromatherapy to treat colds, sinusitis and persistent coughs. (1. Boil some water in a pot on the stove. 2. Add a couple of drops of Tea Tree Oil to the boiling water. 3. Breathe in the steam for a few minutes.)
- Make sure it comes in a dark bottle so the light doesn't destroy the medicinal properties in the oil.
- Do NOT take tea tree oil orally. It is to be used topically or as an aromatherapy only.
- A little goes a long way. Start with just 1-2 drops of oil as a soak or mixed with oil.
