Average number of chemicals in everyday Cosmetics
Recently we have been reading a lot (shared in social networks) about the ill-effects of the chemicals used in various products like fast food, processed food, processed vegetables, meat, cosmetics.... each and every bit of product we use today!!

1. If you buy vegetables and fruits, you would be worried about pesticides and wax used to keep them fresh longer.

2. If you have a quick snack from McD or KFC, you would be worried about the MSG, transfat and other dangerous chemicals

3. Parabens, SLS, SLES, Phthalates in cosmetics, soaps, shampoos, face washes, etc.

The list of worries and side-effects goes on and on... the time has come for us to change our lifestyle and Go Green!! Go Natural!! Go Organic!! Lets try our best and share our ideas to turn towards a greener lifestyle... move closer to nature and be safe and secure in the hands of nature!!

How and Where to start this change?? It's not that hard.. Let's try together. Which product would you first change?? What alternative would you choose to buy?
We will create a list of all the products discussed to inspire more people into an organic lifestyle. Tag your natural alternative post/photo with #TKLGoOrganiclist

As we are shifting from our rented house to our own flat, we wanted to change the address in all our important documents. So that we can maintain a consistent address for any kind of communication. Now I have Chennai address in some, Bangalore address in some... My hubby has his dad's old address in some, dad's new address in some!! Total Confusion... Haphazard!! So we wanted to change all the addresses to our new flat address. I started investigating how to change the address in different documents like Passport, Driving License, Gas agency, Telephone bill, Aadhar Card, Voter card, Ration Card, etc. Then I thought why not blog about it and put down all the links in one place to make it easier for anyone who wants to change their address.
Here we go!!

Experience 100% Happiness in Life

This is our small thought or Realization that we had:

"When you buy something for the first time and add it to the
experience of life, you get 100% happiness very easily. But when you buy an advanced or upgraded version of the same thing next time, for the same kind of experience with some extra luxury/comfort, your happiness is shorter and is not even 50% of how you felt the first time. So always pay for your experential
happiness, think before you upgrade what you already own."

Like when you buy your first car/mobile/gadgets, you feel great and 100% happier. But when you upgrade it to a newer model, you get extra comfort/luxury but your happiness is less than 50% and very short lived. Rather if you had spent the same money in adding an experience to your life, like going for a holiday trip/learning a new skill/adventure sporting/helping others, you would have got another 100% happiness plus a whole new experience!! Think over guys!!

We are not saying that you should totally avoid upgrading, then you'll become obsolete one day. But you can measure your happiness before you buy something.

For example, if I have a normal digi camera which is 10 MP (which is almost obsolete today) I would like to buy a digital SLR like everyone else. But I would like to check how happy I'll be on spending a huge money on it. Whether I'm interested in learning professional photography and then use it? or just have it in your cupboard because everybody has it? If learning and experiencing my creative skill through good photos is my ultimate reason, I would buy the DSLR right away.

Another example, when you buy your first house you feel so happy, satisfied, on top of the world that you have reached a milestone in your life. But when you buy your second house (a little more bigger, spacious and comfortable), but you don't get the same happiness as you got when you did it the first time. I mean you can buy another living space,  but think if you can increase your happiness by buying some kind of cottage on the hill top or on the beach, so that you can go and spend your holidays with your loved ones! That will give you a new experience!!

So let's make conscious decisions when we spend huge money on just upgrading things next time!!

Save Water Save Life

Recently we had been to a shop to enquire about buying a new washing machine. The sales guy said  Frontload consumes only 52 liters of water per wash and Topload consumes 110L. This striked us like a lightening. . 52L per wash?? If we use the machine only twice per week it takes 104L/week. . 416L/month. . Comes to wasting about 4992 L/year for just washing our damn clothes!! And we dont recycle this water.. it just drains down. If one family wastes so much, how much would be wasted by Bangalore households? India? World?
Think what we can do to save water. . Atleast we can reduce our wash cycles to two per week, and not everyday. Wait till you get one full load of dirty clothes to wash!!Forests are becoming dry day by day. . Animals strive for a drop of water. They neither have money nor mouth to fight!! We have seen it so close :( If this persists there would be no forests, no animals, no ecosystem, no life!
