Whenever we are asked to write anything for birthdays or weddings, we run out of words and write the same stuff like "Wishing you a great future.. Have a great Life... Bla bla..". And these books lay idle in the cupboards just gathering some more dust. This alternative idea creates more fun at the wedding and can be treasured forever as a momento. (By framing it on the wall!!)

So How to make this Thumbprint Tree:
Things Required:
Printed or Drawn Tree Skeleton
Colored Inkpads (Choose your colors)
Fine black ink pen
Babywipes/Tissues to wipe the ink off the fingers
Picture Frame
Thumbprint trees are nothing but large trees with empty branches, drawn or printed on a big sheet of paper (size depending on the number of guests). This sheet of paper is kept at the party and each of the guests is asked to put down his/her thumbprint as it's leaves on the branches and sign their name beside the leaf. At the end of the party you get a tree full of colorful leaves, nothing but hearty blessings in disguise from the guests.
You can write down the names of the couple and their marriage date below the tree.
Add your imaginations to the basic tree design - like drawing two little birds sitting on the branch signifying the couple, a message about the couple, etc.
So why limit this idea only for weddings? We can to do this thumbprint tree for any kind of celebrations like birthday parties, baby showers, farewell or promotion parties and any other reason to celebrate!!
# A Group of friends can make and frame this tree and gift it to one of the friend's wedding/birthday, instead of gifting ready made boring greeting cards which neither of them read through.
# We can encourage our kids to make a thumbprint tree which has their friends' fingerprints, and add to the leaves every year. Ultimately their friend tree has to expand :)
# If your guests feel bad to have their fingers dirty, then use readily available cute rubber stamps instead of finger prints.
# If you want to avoid the mess of ink on the D-day, then you can already have the tree with leaves (your own fingerprints or with rubber stamps) and have the guests just sign their names. But i tell you, you'll be missing all the fun!!
