Make Easy clay at home for kids - Bread clay

9/14/2014

If you have kids at home, and if you are looking for ideas to keep them occupied, and also to make them more creative, you should try this one. Make clay easily at home with left out/stale breads. You just need three ingredients to make this fun clay. With one slice of white bread, you can make a gooseberry size of clay to play with. This is not just for kids, if you are like me with a search for different crafts then you can turn the bread clay into pretty awesome cute little things. You can make fridge magnets, key chains, paper weights, charms, beads, tiny toys from this. Moving on to the recipe:

In short, remove the ends of the bread. Crumble into tiny pieces coarsely. For every slice, add 1 tbsp of fevicol or any thick glue. Keep mixing with a plastic spoon or hands. Add acrylic paint to get your preferred color. Don't worry if the dough sticks to your hand, eventually it becomes like a chapati/roti dough. You can wear plastic gloves too instead. Keep kneading. Add a bit of corn flour if the dough is sticky or add another slice of bread. That's it. You're almost done. When you get the flexible dough, store it immediately in a plastic cling wrap or zip lock bag and store in the fridge if not using immediately.

If the dough is kept out, it loses its moisture and becomes hard to work with. Go on and make your favorite toys out of the clay. Let it air dry for atleast 24 hours. No need to bake. Only air dry. Once it is completely dry, paint a coat of clear varnish or clear nail polish to protect it from molds. Ta da!! Your kids will love to play with this dough and make their favorite characters out of it.

You can have a look at the "How to" video below or just visit the below link before you make it. I do not want to repeat what someone has already done on the web ;)

DIY Creative Planters for your Garden

8/26/2013

Are you a crazy gardener?? Or are you a person who thinks you don't have a green thumb?? Actually you need not be one..
This post is just to inspire you into gardening, or to have atleast a 1 square foot of natural greenery inside your home!! And also workplace... Seeing Green everyday increases your creativity and energy in whatever you do. Also add liveliness and a dash of color to your rooms. You can start with getting some really small plants or succulents from a nursery. Then all you have to do is water them now and then... and they'll be thankful forever by smiling at you all day :)

In this post, we are not going to talk about how to grow plants, there are too many youtube videos, blogs and experts doing that. You just have to google each one (like 'Book Planter') to get a detailed tutorial. We are going to see some of the creative ideas for planters, rather than planting in the old fashioned and boring terracota pots... or buying those expensive ceramic planters!! You can plant in almost anything you get your hands on.. so try your luck with these inspirations. Most of the pictures are self-explanatory DIY projects.

Hellooo friends!! We found a new sweet gift idea today :)
We generally tend to buy chocolates as a last moment gift for someone... let it be for any occasion. Chocolates are the best and easy ones to get, and would always make the receiver happy just about seeing it.

How would it be if we make a christmas tree full of chocolates and gift it to someone (who loves sweets ofcos) ???
Bunch of chocolates... Awesome right??
Kids would also love it.

You can also use this idea to decorate for a birthday party. Place this tree in the center of the party room and let each one of them pick up the chocolates they want. It would be fun and a treat to watch!!

Are you game for it?

You can make this tree by yourself with materials available at home. But still if you wanted to know how to make here is the link.

Gratitude Project  - Open up your Flashback Reel

4/27/2013

We came across this fabulous project from Derek Sivers Blog and wanted to share with you.
Here is the great project for you...
# To think about people who have made an impact in your life
# To relive your moments with your old friends
# To say a small thank you to them before we get on with our own ways.
# To fill you with immense gratitude and reminiscence
What is it: Making your Gratitude list from your memory.
How: Run your flashback reel of your life in your mind and jot down how many ever friends or acquaintance names you remember.. starting from when you were small (whatever age you can recollect) until now.
Do not use Facebook, Mobile or any other contact resources to refer. Just use your head!! That's the crux of this idea.
Run your Life Journey once more in your mind! Take some time for this activity... shut off from everything else. In the end you would be amazed how many are still in your mind and you never had time to thank them even!!
