Have you ever wondered what you have done all this year? Wouldn't you like to revisit your happy moments once in a year atleast? Would you like to get reminded of your little cute sweet things in life? Big things are anyways remembered :) And most important, would you not love to know what makes your loved ones happier?
We came across this very impressive and fun idea of doing it - Memory Jar.
We came across this very impressive and fun idea of doing it - Memory Jar.
Start every year with an empty glass/transparent jar (Mason jar). Ask your family members to write down their cute joyful moments everytime they come across, on colorful notes and fill the jar. On New year's
eve, gather around and open the jar, read your awesome memories of the year one by one. You can close the jars, label it by year and store them to decorate your shelves. Next year, a new jar again!!
We are going to start it now, it's never too late :) Have a permanent place for your memory jar. Place some colorful papers and a marker nearby. Thanks to The Steamy Kitchen Blog, for inspiring us to start this one. We like her idea of also putting in some trinkets and lucky charms into the jar, and take them with you when you need them. This idea is really cute for families with small kids. You can decorate your jar in the best ways you can - add paper flowers, satin ribbons, paint them, put in photos of your loved ones, add sand and some beach settings inside, etc. We think this memory jar is more fun than writing journals.
Are you starting a memory jar too? Do let us know.
We are curious to know what would be the everyday happy moments for our kids!!
Happy Crafting!!
